Hot Date Night

My poor husband.  His parents obviously were not thinking when they had him on December 23rd.  ;)  And while I always swore I would never lump his birthday into Christmas, or worse, overlook it altogether... well, I'm terribly ashamed to say that his 27th birthday was largely overlooked.  One month and 3 days later we finally got to go out to celebrate it (big thanks to Grandma Dee and Papa Johnie for watching West for us!!).

I took him to Jazz for some cajun food because he's been wanting to try it for quite awhile.  The food and atmosphere were fantastic!!

Afterwards, and here's where our date gets pretty steamy (just a fair warning...), we went to do something we haven't done in a LOOONG time.  Here's a hint...
Yep, we went to Barnes & Noble and just browsed books and sat and read peacefully for an hour or so!!  It. was. amazing.  I mean, so amazing that we need to make it a regular feature of all future date nights.

As for his future birthdays, he's actually semi-seriously asked to move it to a new day!  His half birthday won't work because it actually falls on my birthday (we must be meant to be!) and he prefers a day that is nice out so he can go golfing.  Any and all suggestions are welcome.  :)

A Walk in the Park

The weather last Saturday was gorgeous!!  We went to our favorite park to walk and let West out of the stroller at the end to walk with us.

West's perspective as we imagine it:

"Freedom!!  Gotta run before they put me back in the stroller!"
"Yep, I'm cute.  I know it."
"Tatt!  Tatt!"
(By "tatt" he means "cat", though it was actually a dog walking by.  He just happens to call every animal a cat now).  :)
"Ugh.  Mom's taking pictures again.  I better just get this over with and hold Dad's hand so she can get her shot and we can keep moving."
"They think I care about this checking out this large body of water, but I'm just taking a little break.  The longer I sit here and look pensive, the longer I can rest."
"Sheesh.  This walking business is tough.  You go on Mom and Dad, I just need to sit here a little longer."

Project 365... Week 3

I realized as I started assembling pictures this week that they're almost all of his back!  I could have picked some that were front on instead, but these were my favorites of each day so I decided to keep these.  I'll try for more variety next week.  :)

Day 15:  Almost every morning when he gets up we spend some time looking out the window in his room.  Love the morning light spilling in here.
Day 16:  Playing on my phone while we're shopping in Target.  When snacks, milk, and toys I brought along fail to keep him happy anymore, my phone is always an ace in the hole.
Day 17:  Uh oh.  Little man can now open the pantry doors on his own.
Day 18:  At cousin Titus' birthday party - he wanted so badly to go play nerf guns with all the older boys!
Day 19:  Checking out the lake with Dad on a Saturday afternoon walk in the park.
Day 20:  We found West in an old dirty diaper when we got home from church so we were letting him air out.  :(  Look at that cute baby bum as he's looking out the window!
Day 21:  Showing everyone his belly while celebrating Titus' birthday with family at Pizza Ranch.
