Fun Day with Grandma Rosemary

My mom came up last week while she was on spring break and spent the day hanging out with spoiling us.  She brought some groceries and taught me how to cut up and fry a whole chicken with all the fixins' - mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, and green beans with bacon.  Yeah, my mouth is watering just thinking back on it!

We also got to get outside and enjoy the gorgeous weather.  She was so excited to watch West's reaction to stepping in the grass with his bare feet.  He didn't know what to think of the whole thing!

Thanks for such a fun day, Mom!!!  We love you!!!

Under the Weather

Our sweet boy is not feeling too well.  Friday morning he started running a fever out of nowhere and it continued off and on through Sunday.  Saturday he developed some congestion in his nose and throat, which has worsened a bit since then.  We think he has a sore throat too because sometimes when he sneezes he cries.  Poor guy!  I'm thinking it's probably the flu since with the flu you usually run a fever first and then get upper respiratory symptoms whereas with a cold you rarely run a fever and if you do it is after upper respiratory symptoms have set in.  But who knows.  Since it's probably a virus, nothing to do but let it run its course, keep his fever down as best we can, and keep him hydrated.  Oh, and cuddle and spoil him until he's feeling better, of course!

Here he fell asleep on Brad while we were hanging out in the living room.  Anyone who knows our son knows he must not be feeling well if he does that!!  While Brad hates that he's sick, he sure loved the cuddle time.  :)
